Background: Jackie, a senior leader in the aviation procurement sector, operates in an environment defined by high complexity, tight timelines, and constant pressure. Highly competent and driven, she had come to believe that sustained stress was simply part of the job.
Challenge: Despite her effectiveness, Jackie had unknowingly become a leadership bottleneck. Her hands-on approach increased reliance on her, limited team ownership, and amplified her own workload and stress. Over time, this dynamic threatened both her sustainability and her team’s growth.
Approach: Through our Coaching Skills program, Jackie fundamentally shifted how she led. She moved from directing and controlling outcomes to coaching for ownership, delegating with clarity, building trust, and empowering her team to think and decide independently.
Impact: Two years after completing the program, she described the transformation simply: ‘The last two years have been a pleasure.’ Stress was no longer her baseline. She reported increased energy, engagement, and genuine enjoyment in her work — something she previously believed was impossible in her role. Recognising the value of the shift, she advocated for and sent all of her direct reports through the next Coaching Skills cohort.
Leaders can unlock performance without burnout, creating sustainable results by transforming how leadership is practised, not just what leaders do.
