Arlene Gallant-Bernard

Arlene Gallant-Bernard

Arlene’s background is in nursing, education and leadership. Having been a surveyor with Accreditation Canada for over 22 years Arlene has ample experience in individual and team coaching both nationally and internationally.

Arlene has been a coach/mentor since early on in her career, 10 years ago she formalized this role by completing her ACC coaching training and started more formally coaching. Arlene has continued to informally coach and mentor leaders and has worked extensively with the Canadian College of Health Leaders in promoting the LEADS framework.

Arlene is an example of the power of a positivity centric approach. She focuses on what can go well and maintains a positive disposition. Arlene is easy to talk to, approachable, and focused on a balance of support and challenge. She has always believed that a team is stronger than an individual and this is reflected in her coaching approach and emphasis on communication.

Arlene’s clients would describe her as transparent, direct, authentic. What you see is what you get. She views barriers or challenges as an opportunity for growth rather than a barrier. Her approach is to challenge people to reach their full potential, without expensing a supportive, safe environment. Her goal with clients is for them to be able to develop their own plan to get where they need to go rather than become dependent on her service.

Arlene is a two time winner of the Agneau Pickham Award for Excellence in Leadership. The most meaningful award to her so far has been the peer nominated Doctor Tom Moore Award.
